Benefits of ClearCorrect
Dr. Ornelas takes digital impressions of your mouth to create a series of plastic aligners to correct gapped, tilted, overcrowded, or rotated teeth. They can even be used to correct several bite concerns. Since the aligners are clear and removable, you will enjoy various advantages when compared to traditional braces, such as:
- Nearly invisible treatment.
- Custom-fit aligners eliminate slipping when speaking or smiling.
- Smooth aligners to prevent irritation to the inside of your lips or cheeks.
- Removable to enjoy your favorite foods and drinks.
- Easy oral hygiene and care.
- Less time in the dental chair because you do not need adjustments.
- Shorter treatment time.
Candidate for ClearCorrect
ClearCorrect can be used to fix a variety of bite and alignment issues for teens and adults. Your cosmetic dentist in Crown Point, Dr. Ornelas performs a comprehensive consultation to ensure the aligners can resolve your concerns. In addition, the ideal candidate is also committed to their oral hygiene and will wear the aligners for at least 22 hours per day.
What is the Process Like?
If you are a candidate for ClearCorrect, Dr. Ornelas takes digital impressions of your mouth to create a 3D model. This allows the movement of your teeth to be mapped and transferred to a series of aligners. You wear each aligner for 1 to 2 weeks depending on Dr. Ornelas recommendations. As you progress through the series, you will see your teeth move into their proper positions. On average, it takes about 12 months to finish the series. You will need a retainer at the end of your treatment to prevent your teeth from moving back into their previous positions.
During your treatment, you will not have any dietary restrictions because the aligners are removable. You should not have anything except water while wearing them. It is best to maintain your oral hygiene habits by brushing twice a day and flossing daily. Do not forget to take the time to clean your aligners using a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear antibacterial soap.
Understanding the Cost of ClearCorrect
There is no set price for the treatment because the cost is determined by your individual treatment plan, such as how many aligners are needed. We provide you with an estimate and discuss your payment options during your consultation to keep your new smile affordable.

ClearCorrect FAQs
How Long Does ClearCorrect Take?
Almost every patient wants to see the results of their orthodontic treatment as quickly as possible. Fortunately, the average treatment timeline with ClearCorrect is significantly shorter than traditional braces; it’s only 12-18 months. Of course, staying on track with your treatment plan requires a commitment to good habits, like wearing your aligners for 20+ hours a day, every day. It’s also important that you don’t lose or break your trays since this can result in delays, so always put them in their designated case when you aren’t wearing them.
Why Do I Need to Wear My ClearCorrect Trays for 20+ Hours a Day?
The answer is simple: if you don’t wear your aligners for the vast majority of the day, your teeth won’t move as anticipated. This can result in treatment plan delays, meaning you have to wait longer for a beautiful, straight smile.
The best way to make sure you meet the 20+ hour goal every day is to use the stopwatch on your phone to track your wear time. You should also get in the habit of only taking them out when absolutely necessary, like right before your meal.
Can I Drink Coffee with ClearCorrect?
You can, but there is a caveat: you have to take your aligners out first. If you don’t, then there’s a chance that they will warp from the hot temperature. Even if you prefer iced coffee, you need to take them out to prevent stubborn stains from surfacing.
How Do I Clean My Trays?
There are only two things you need: clean, cool water and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Some patients like using toothpaste as well, but it’s important to keep in mind that the abrasive ingredients can leave microscopic scratches behind, giving your trays a dull appearance.
Important note: Since you’re only wearing your trays for a week or two at a time, they should stay clear. If they are consistently turning yellow, it’s likely due to a bad habit, like not cleaning them after each meal or keeping them on while drinking coffee.
What Happens After My ClearCorrect Treatment?
Although your time with ClearCorrect will officially be over, there is still another step of the process: the retainer. This step is crucial because it helps prevent orthodontic relapse (the phenomenon where your teeth begin to move back into their misaligned positions). Usually, patients just need to wear it every evening while they sleep to preserve their results. However, there are also some cases where we recommend wearing it around the clock for the first few months, especially if some of your teeth took a little more time and effort to move.
Is There Anything I Can’t Eat with ClearCorrect?
You can’t eat anything with your ClearCorrect trays in. You can eat all of your favorite foods after you take them out though! Of course, it’s still a good idea to stick to a well-balanced diet that’s low in added sugar since things like ice cream, candy, and soda are culprits of cavities.
